Prantakatha is a Kolkata-based youth development laboratory that has nurtured leadership from the margins since 2006. Across gender, sexuality, caste, class, age and geography, we create spaces where people carrying lived experiences of exclusion can generate knowledge, build relationships, develop livelihoods and influence institutions.

Margin as Method

Margin as Method is Prantakatha’s evolving pedagogy. It recognises that people at the margins are not merely recipients of support; they are producers of knowledge, leadership, care and institutional innovation. We begin with proximity, listening and lived experience. From there emerge relationships, healing, solidarity, public action and new systems of support.
